Three friends and I left from Cusco for what would be a three day escapade over mountain passes, around glaciers and through valleys just to finish with a refreshing beer, a dip in hot springs and a bath of mountain reverie. And what a trek it was indeed. At every turn there was a new sight to be seen, a new set of glaciers, jagged rock formations, or a vividly painted landscape.
We had a good crew too. Fit and fun; good company always leads to an ‘excellent adventure.’ Frequently found sipping whiskey to warm up, to celebrate and just for the sake of it. The early mornings were always fridged, but the weather overall was prime; warm days and cold nights but with a dependable thawing turned toasting sun. Basking in the high altitude rays only trying not to fry. This trek is about as good as it gets and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. If your already in Peru drop whatever meaningless tours you got planned, if your looking to come here make sure you fit this one in. The crowds were sparse, bordering on non-existent, and the adventure level was up there, far beyond any of the normal tourist tracks.
We are already planning the next one and I know it’s gonna be just as spectacular. In the meantime check out some of these photos
