Last time I came through the West I was on a mission: To experience it, to explore its natural spaces, it's people and places as deeply as I could. This time around my mantra is different. I am on a quick shotgun trip loosely retracing my steps, catching some places I missed the first time around and visiting some friends of old and some friends I met along the way. I'm down for anything and I'm digging it all.
With this mindset I have been swept up with many impromptu adventures beyond confabulation, riding along for the wild side rides of other people's lives; a stand in, a visitor, a part-time friend. And through all of this I've been greatly surprised and humbled by the acceptance of these people. Wether its a city visit, a wild mountain excursion, a playful party hike, a boat trip, or a long hike into the most beautiful of Canadian waterfalls... I'll say it again: I'm diggin' it all.
So this one goes out to all those people. All those who know how to have a good time, who are willing to give a stranger a chance, willing to open themselves up and share their lives with a traveler. A heartfelt "thank you" to you all.
