So I've made it at last. It took a lot of time and a lot of perseverance, but I am here now. I landed in Lima and spent a few days getting the lay of the land. Lima is a humungous city of well over eight million. It stretches on for miles and miles around the curve of the shoreline. It is a crowded city but has many things going for it. I loved getting to the Pacific then above it on a cliff a few hundred feet above that drops dramatically into the sea. I loved the districts of Miraflores and Barranco, I can see why everyone wants to live there and why every tourist goes there. Here, there are miles and miles and miles of ocean views, and an equal distance of paths and parks.
I've taken a big jump over the country to Cusco and will soon be in Ollantaytambo. It is between this city and this town that I will be spending the next couple months. As I work, write, take photographs, and absorb all the this splendid place has to offer. In these coming days, weeks, and months I intend to focus on manifesting benevolence and compassion as I've lived too long already in a state of cynicism, lust, and anger.
